Registration for our 2026 Master Artist Programs is NOW OPEN. Join the faculty and alumni of The Compass Atelier to learn about the Master Artist Program.

This is the program that is revolutionizing how painting is taught. Accrue all the KNOWLEDGE of a BFA and MFA in just 3 short years of part-time study and at a FRACTION of the cost of a university education. Come meet the instructors, talk to current and former students, and learn all about the program. Find out, like so many others, if this will indeed be the best decision of your artistic life.

Kensington Day of the Book Festival

The Kensington Day of the Book Festival is a family friendly street festival, held rain or shine, spanning three blocks of Howard Avenue in the heart of historic Kensington. Come meet authors, poets, literary and community organizations. Live music on a few stages, special guest speakers, poetry readings, cookbook demos, children’s program, and much more. Not your average book festival! Now in its 18th year, this festival offers something for everyone!

It’s our unofficial kickoff of summer at Compass Art Center! Come by the evening of Friday, May 23rd from 7-9pm for a great night of art, food, drink, and fun! We will celebrate a new exhibition in our Wheaton Arts Parade Gallery2, have artists doing amazing demonstrations in a variety of mediums like oil and pastels, and have arts & crafts activities for the entire family.
