This semester-long portfolio level Figure Drawing and Painting class is crafted for ambitious teen artists looking to develop a standout portfolio for college admission.  This course offers a rich exploration of the human form, blending classical techniques with modern artistic practices to elevate your skills and creativity.

Over the course of the semester, students will engage with:

  • Human Anatomy: Study the structure and mechanics of the human body to achieve accurate and dynamic representations.

  • Gesture Drawing: Practice capturing movement and emotion through quick, expressive sketches that bring figures to life.

  • Proportions and Structure: Learn to master proportion and spatial relationships to create cohesive and realistic figures.

This 8 week class will add to your understanding of character design and drawing. Recommended for students who have completed our Comic class or students with good drawing skills and general understanding of the figure.

Students will learn the core fundamentals of creating interesting and dynamic characters as well as techniques in adding color to your characters’ designs. Learn to use color as a communication device for your character for use with concept art for films, games, illustrations, and comics.

This portfolio level course is designed to assist students in creating works of art that are stylistic, expressive  and reflect their inner voices and passions.  Composition, color theory and narrative construct will be covered. Previous experience with portrait and figure drawing highly recommended. 

The Summer Portfolio Program consists of three 3-week full day sessions- Monday through Friday, 10am - 3pm.  Students receive personal instruction on specific topics and work on projects in studio.  Students are required to also work independently, in-studio and out, between lessons and complete their assigned projects.

Our mission is to provide students with intellectually informed, hands-on instruction in the practice of an array of age appropriate visual arts media.

Multi Topic concentrated Portfolio Development program designed for students who are preparing to submit their portfolio for college or job application. This program provides the opportunity for students to work on their skills and to produce portfolio quality artworks in Observation Foundation Drawing, Figure/Portrait Drawing and 2D-Conceptual Design/Visual Thinking.

A personalized program designed for high school students, recent graduates and community college students who would like to increase their chances of acceptance into the best art institutions.

The program is focused on providing students with an intense Visual Arts learning experience in the areas of Drawing, Painting, Design, Comic Arts, Printmaking and Sculpture.  Our program is based on the assessment of student’s work samples, skill levels, interests and the requirements of their chosen colleges or programs with the objective of helping students produce a collection of work that demonstrates ability, creativity and commitment.
