Want to learn to tell your stories in graphic form? Already working on a project but need some new insights? Join this class and work with a professional comic artist that can provide you with the tools that will help you take your ideas to the next level. Drawing the head and figure in various perspectives, drawing believable environments, along with various inking techniques will be covered.
This 8 week class will add to your understanding of character design and drawing. Recommended for students who have completed our Comic class or students with good drawing skills and general understanding of the figure.
Students will learn the core fundamentals of creating interesting and dynamic characters as well as techniques in adding color to your characters’ designs. Learn to use color as a communication device for your character for use with concept art for films, games, illustrations, and comics.

This course is designed to provide students with the foundations for the creation of fantasy creatures. Introduction to skeleton, filling the structure/ shape, muscle, gestures, expression, and techniques for rendering skin, fur, scales will be covered. This program provides the opportunity for students to work on their skills and to produce portfolio quality artworks in Observation Foundation Drawing, Figure/Portrait Drawing and 2D-Conceptual Design/Visual Thinking.
A personalized program designed for high school students, recent graduates and community college students who would like to increase their chances of acceptance into the best art institutions.
The program is focused on providing students with an intense Visual Arts learning experience in the areas of Drawing, Painting, Design, Comic Arts, Printmaking and Sculpture. Our program is based on the assessment of student’s work samples, skill levels, interests and the requirements of their chosen colleges or programs with the objective of helping students produce a collection of work that demonstrates ability, creativity and commitment.

This course is designed to provide students with the foundations for the creation of fantasy creatures. Introduction to skeleton, filling the structure/ shape, muscle, gestures, expression, and techniques for rendering skin, fur, scales will be covered. Students will examine drawing animals with consideration to the environment and believability when developing creature designs.
Students will design a fantasy creature and create a character page and cover illustration for their designs

Students will design their own illustration for a comic book cover. Elements of character creation, dynamic posing and compositional layout will be covered. Students will have a color Comic cover to bring home.

Students will learn to utilize source references of humans, animals, plants, and machinery in a character concept . No matter your style, students will learn to give unique personalities, special abilities and skills to their characters. Students create a character and design a character page illustrating the character and costume design from various angles.
The Summer Portfolio Program consists of three 3-week full day sessions- Monday through Friday, 10am - 3pm. Students receive personal instruction on specific topics and work on projects in studio. Students are required to also work independently, in-studio and out, between lessons and complete their assigned projects.
Our mission is to provide students with intellectually informed, hands-on instruction in the practice of an array of age appropriate visual arts media.
Multi Topic concentrated Portfolio Development program designed for students who are preparing to submit their portfolio for college or job application.
