Embark on a comprehensive artistic journey with our Year-Long Fine Art Foundation class, designed for teen students who are building an exceptional portfolio for college admission. This immersive course offers a thorough exploration of drawing, painting, and design principles, equipping students with the skills needed to excel in the art world.

Course Highlights:

  • Linear Perspective Drawing: Master the techniques of linear perspective to create realistic and dynamic compositions. Study one-point, two-point, and three-point perspective to understand depth and spatial relationships in your artwork.

  • Advanced Drawing Techniques: Develop foundational skills in drawing through rigorous practice and study of form, value, texture, and proportion. Work with a variety of media including graphite, charcoal, and ink.

  • Color Theory and Application: Dive into the principles of color theory, including color mixing, harmony, and contrast. Apply these concepts in your paintings to enhance visual impact and emotional expression.

  • Composition and Design: Learn the principles of effective composition and design to create balanced and engaging artworks. Explore techniques such as focal points, rule of thirds, and dynamic layouts to strengthen your artistic compositions.

  • Painting Techniques: Gain hands-on experience with painting media such as acrylics and watercolor. Experiment with various techniques including glazing, impasto, and blending to develop your personal style.

  • Portfolio Development: Focus on creating a diverse and cohesive portfolio that showcases your technical skills, creativity, and artistic growth. Receive personalized feedback and guidance to refine your work for college applications.

  • Critique and Reflection: Engage in regular critiques and reflective practices to evaluate your progress and enhance your artistic practice. Learn to give and receive constructive feedback in a supportive environment.

This year-long course provides a structured yet flexible framework for students to build a strong foundation in fine art while developing a portfolio that stands out. By the end of the program, students will have a polished collection of work demonstrating their mastery of drawing, painting, and design, suitable for submission for high school or college admission.
