Class Experience

We're so excited to be offering a watercolor painting class for kids!  If your child loves to paint, we know he/she will love this new class.  Students will learn fine arts painting techniques using watercolor paint of various kinds (watercolor pencils, watercolor pan and tube paint, and gouache paint.   This is an amazing variety!

Students draw what they paint so this class has the added advantage of teaching both drawing and painting.  We explore color strategies such as complimentary color schemes as well as color concepts, drawing and painting principles, brush techniques, mixing colors, and additional painting techniques that help students develop and enhance their painting skills. 

Students learn by following the instructor in guided drawing and painting.  The class is offered in person and is 2 hours long.  All art materials are supplied and a $30 materials fee is added at registration.  

Class Requirements

  • previous drawing experience is helpful but not mandatory

What you'll learn

This class includes instruction on composition, 2-dimensional lines and shapes, color theory, and techniques for creating exciting artworks.  Students also explore the technique of shading to begin their inroduction to 3-dimensional drawing.  The class explores various art mediums including graphite drawing pencils, color brush pens, watercolor pencils, and other art mediums that help students to learn and produce accurate and exciting artwork. Children learn by following the instructor in guided drawing and painting instruction.

This class session is 75 minutes long and open to new and existing students.

Class Experience

This is one of our most popular art classes, and what's more fun than time with mom or dad!  'Arts and Dots' allows young children ages 5 and 6 to begin exploring art through an understanding of lines and shapes. Children learn the 'lines and shapes' families and how to create simple drawings/paintings using these elements of art.

The class explores different art mediums such as color brush markers, tempera paint sticks, and dot markers. Fun and instructive art projects provide the structure and knowledge for learning and building a feeling of confidence, with the added benefit of special family learning time. Stories are included to help with the understanding of drawing principles and to gain children's interest and excitement.  Children create numerous drawings/paintings over the session. 

A parent or adult is recommended to attend.   The class is one hour long.

Notes

This class is offered in-person at the Kensington, Studio. Adult participation is optional for this class. For in-person students, we supply all art materials. We charge a $25 materials fee at registration.

The class offers instruction in color concepts, drawing and painting principles, paintbrush techniques, and mixing colors, all skills that help children develop and enhance their painting skills. 

Campers learn by following the instructor in guided drawing and painting.  The camp is offered in person only and runs from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

Class Experience

Welcome to the art world of myths and legends! Drawing Dragons and Mythical Beasts teaches drawing principles and techniques while awakening a child's creativity and imagination.  

From dragons of the land, sea, air, and beasts such as great apes, ungulates,  pachyderms, and canids, students will learn to draw from suggested illustrations while also creating their own scenes and characteristics. Students will use various art mediums such as graphite pencils, brush color markers, watercolor pencils, and other exciting art mediums. 

All art materials are provided.  A $25 materials fee is charged at registration.   

Classes are weekly and 90 minutes long.  Classes are open to new and existing students.

Class Experience

Brand new to Young Masters Art Studio!  We're now offering a semester-based, comprehensive art program for ages 9-12.  Students will learn foundational drawing and composition skills, proper use of tools and techniques and ways of creating deeper meaning in their artwork.  

The program includes artistic enhancing skills for children of all developmental levels. It provides opportunities for each student to use his/her unique abilities in cultivating creative expression, building peer relationships, and fostering self-esteem.  Children gain a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of art and their application in a variety of art mediums and disciplines of drawing, painting, and design. This 2-hour class ranges from drawing to painting to printmaking and sculpture. Semesters are 17 weeks, allowing for a stable class grouping, continuity and a predictable creative environment for student and instructor.  We accept students at all skill levels.

This is a new and exciting young artist program designed to excite your child's creativity while giving formal instruction in the fine arts. Classes are 2 hours long. Tuition is per semester and includes all materials. Tuition is prorated based on the number of classes at the time of registration. Installment arrangements are available

Kids will learn the 2-dimentional and 3-dimentional drawing fundamentals, including composition, line, shape, form, value and techniques for creating exciting artworks.  Our art projects will include a mix of gorgeous birds and four-legged animals, with an array of feather types and animal fur.

Back by popular demand is our unique Feathers & Fur art camp!  If your child loves birds and animals, this is the perfect camp.  Kids love to draw animals and our unique drawing camp is a great way to learn and enhance drawing skills.  

Children will spend a full week learning the fundamentals of drawing and painting and creating exciting artworks.  Our subjects will include a mix of gorgeous birds and four-legged animals, with an array of feather types and animal fur.  Campers can expect to leave camp with artworks they are proud of.

Our art instructor will demonstrate and coach campers on drawing and painting principles, color concepts. composition, line quality and techniques for how to create amazing artworks. Weather permitting, we will verge outdoors to draw real-live animals that are visiting us to pose for our young artist campers.  What fun and how unique!

Class Experience

This is one of our most popular art classes, and what's more fun than time with mom or dad!  'Arts and Dots' allows young children ages 5 and 6 to begin exploring art through an understanding of lines and shapes. Children learn the 'lines and shapes' families and how to create simple drawings/paintings using these elements of art.

The class explores different art mediums such as color brush markers, tempera paint sticks, and dot markers. Fun and instructive art projects provide the structure and knowledge for learning and building a feeling of confidence, with the added benefit of special family learning time. Stories are included to help with the understanding of drawing principles and to gain children's interest and excitement.  Children create numerous drawings/paintings over the session. 

A parent or adult is required to attend.   The class is one hour long.

NOTES

This class is offered in-person at the Kensington, Studio. Adult participation is optional for this class. For in-person students, we supply all art materials. We charge a $25 materials fee at registration.

Class Requirements

  • Ability to sit and focus for the duration of the class, one hour

  • Parent or adult attendance is required.

Required.

Adults support their children by ensuring that their child listens to the instructor and remains focused. Adults are asked to avoid taking a directive role but rather, to support their child based on the instructor's direction.

Cancellation Policy

  • 50% of tuition refunded up to 60 days before class/camp starts.

  • 25% of tuition refunded up to 30 days before class/camp starts.

  • No refund within 30 days of first class OR after classes start.

Class Experience

If your child loves to paint, this is the perfect art camp!  Campers learn fine arts painting using acrylics, a fabulous painting medium with bold colors and a texture very much like oil paint. 

Campers draw what they paint so this camp has the advantage of teaching both drawing and painting.  We explore color strategies such as complimentary and/or triadic color schemes. The class offers instruction in color concepts, drawing and painting principles, paintbrush techniques, and mixing colors, all skills that help children develop and enhance their painting skills. 

Campers learn by following the instructor in guided drawing and painting.  The camp is offered in person only and runs from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

Class Requirements

  • previous drawing experience is helpful but not mandatory

  • color concepts and painting principles

  • unique features of acrylic paint

  • composition

  • painting on canvas panels and canvases

  • using different paintbrushes

  • paintbrush techniques

  • how to paint in a 3-dimensional fashion

Children will absolutely  love our new Summer art camp!  Whether your child loves to draw real animals, scary beasts or ferocious dragons, this camp has it all!  Step into a world where real animals, mythical dragons and unusual beasts come to life on paper. Our camp is perfect for lovers of animals and dragons, offering a unique blend of reality and imagination.  Join us in unleashing your child's creativity and exploring the depths of imagination like never before. This camp is truly one of a kind - an opportunity your child won't want to miss!

We teach the fundmental of drawing, and help children develop and nurture their imagination & creativity with unique backgrounds, unusual subjects and a wide range of art mediums and color.  Students draw numerous art projects ranging from existing animals to dragons and beasts that are imagined and created in class. 

Drawing fundementals include an exploration of line, shape and composition as well as color concepts and decorative techniques.  We use numerous art mediums such as brush pens, watercolor pencils, acrylic ink and graphite pencils.  We may even dabble in sculpting!

Its Summer and having lots of fun is a top priority!  In addition to learning and sharpening drawing skills, we play lots of games and may even sculpt a dragon ot two!  Don't miss this unique camp!  The primary instructor is a professional artist with significant teaching experience. Registration is online.

Class Experience

Summer is here and there are tons of fun outdoor activities like climbing trees or going on hikes. But look out----you may encounter a superhero with special outdoor powers!  Superheroes with outdoor powers and powers using the elements are at their strongest in the warm weather season.  Whether they use wind, fire, or water, or whether they talk to animals or grow vines to attack enemies, we will learn about drawing them!  

At this unique camp, we combine learning, creativity, imagination, and fun!  We will learn about special outdoor superheroes, their backgrounds, powers, and enemies.  Best of all, we will learn to draw and paint them!

We teach a variety of drawing fundamentals and techniques with a focus on creating superhero characters including anime and other kinds of comic styles.  Campers are introduced to different drawing and painting techniques while also focusing on character design.  Campers ave plenty of freedom to adapt their own creativity and style to develop unique art.  In addition to drawing principles, campers explore various color mediums including watercolor, brush pens, and tempera paint.

For extra fun, we will have superhero games throughout the week to challenge campers and offer even more fun!  If you want your child to improve their art skills, imagination and creative confidence,  give them the gift of this unique camp!  Hope to see you there!

This class includes instruction on composition, 2-dimensional lines and shapes, color theory, and techniques for creating exciting artworks.  Students also explore the technique of shading to begin their inroduction to 3-dimensional drawing.  The class explores various art mediums including graphite drawing pencils, color brush pens, watercolor pencils, and other art mediums that help students to learn and produce accurate and exciting artwork. Children learn by following the instructor in guided drawing and painting instruction.

This class session is 75 minutes long and open to new and existing students. 

Class Requirements

We supply all art materials for in-person students.  A $25 materials fee is included in the registration.

What you'll learn
