ADVENTURES IN ACRYLIC PAINTING • MARY SCUKA • AGE 10-13

  • Compass Art Center 10335 Kensington Parkway Kensington, MD, 20895 United States (map)

INSTRUCTOR: MARY SCUKA

Class Experience

If your child loves to paint, this is the perfect art camp!  Campers learn fine arts painting using acrylics, a fabulous painting medium with bold colors and a texture very much like oil paint.

Campers draw what they paint so this camp has the advantage of teaching both drawing and painting.  We explore color strategies such as complimentary and/or triadic color schemes. The class offers instruction in color concepts, drawing and painting principles, paintbrush techniques, and mixing colors, all skills that help children develop and enhance their painting skills.

Campers learn by following the instructor in guided drawing and painting.  The camp is offered in person only and runs from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm
